At a Glance
After how the Giants played last week against the Demons I am surprised to see them starting underdogs here.
With the return of Emma Swanson to that Giants midfield I think the home side can get it on their terms from the centre and spend majority of the match on the front foot in front of a parochial home crowd.
Giants by less than a kick in a low-scoring affair.
Despite the skill level of both sides this game looms as a scrap.
I’m happily fading traditional forwards to fit tacklers in as both these sides have a host of defensively-minded midfielders who can rack up the tackle stats ensuring congestion will remain high.
“Lucas-Rodd will enjoy quite low ownership coming in for her first game of 2018. Average was poor in 2017 but she has a high ceiling (17 touches v Freo last season) and could be a great point of difference tonight in defence.” – (Hedge, The Fantasy Insider Podcast, 9 Feb 2018)
“Britt Tully (GWS – $$11,100) is an inside mid who played on Daisy Pearce last week. She had 82 fantasy points (including 11 tackles!) and seems to have taken a step forward this season, I like her a lot at that price,” (Jayk123, The Fantasy Insider Podcast, 9 Feb 2018)
